Environmental Commission
Environmental Commission
The Evesham Township Environmental Commission, composed of seven regular and two alternate members, was created by the Township Council in 1978 for the protection, development or use of natural resources within the limits of Evesham Township.
The duties of the Environmental Commission include, but are not limited to, the review of development applications in order to ensure that the proposed development will not cause significant harm to the natural environment, that the proposed development will not place an excessive demand upon the total resources available for such proposal and, to determine whether the proposed development has been designed with a view toward the protection of natural resources. The Commission is advisory to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment in the case of development applications.
The Commission provides the Township Council with recommendations concerning open space preservation, water resource management, air pollution control, solid waste management, soil and landscape protection and environmental appearance.
The Evesham Township Environmental Commission meets on the second Monday of each month at 8:00 P.M. in Meeting Room 208B of the Municipal Services Building.
