Regular Meeting
The Regular Meeting of the Evesham Township Council was called to order by Mayor Brown at 6:33p.m. The meeting was held in the Meeting Room of the Evesham Township Municipal Complex at 984 Tuckerton Road, Marlton, NJ 08053.
Flag Salute.
Mayor Brown announced that the meeting was being held in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act. Notice was sent to The Central Record and The Burlington County Times, posted on the Bulletin Board and sent to those who requested notification.

On motion by Deputy Mayor Howarth, seconded by Councilman Croft, it was moved to approve the above listed minutes.

Mayor Brown announced that in response to the recent Arizona shootings, the Township plans to improve building security, including the possible addition of metal detectors.
PROCLAMATIONS
Evesham Township Fifth Grade Student Government Winners
Mayor Brown introduced members of Council, staff and Township Professionals to the students. He congratulated each student by school, commending their interest in student government and encouraging their continued success as leaders.
Mayor Brown read the proclamation into the record and presented each student with a copy.
Mayor Brown called recess at 7:23p.m. Council reconvened at 7:30p.m.

There being no comments, preliminary public comment was closed.
ORDINANCES – FIRST READING
Ordinance No. 1-2-2011 – An Ordinance of the Township of Evesham Establishing Annapolis Drive as a “Local Traffic Only” Roadway, and Creating a New Section 150-16.1, and Associated Schedule Section, Entitled, “Local Traffic Only Streets Designated”
On motion by Deputy Mayor Howarth, seconded by Councilman Croft, it was moved to introduce Ordinance No. 1-2-2011, with second reading and public hearing on February 1, 2011.
Council Comments: Mayor Brown inquired on restrictions. Township Solicitor Gillespie explained time restrictions as recommended by Traffic Engineer Rached.
Discussion followed regarding notification of local businesses requiring deliveries and the need for increased signage.

Ordinance No. 2-2-2011 – An Ordinance of the Township of Evesham Amending Chapter 150 of the Code of the Township of Evesham Relating to Streets, and Specifically Prohibiting and/or Limiting Certain Turns
On motion by Deputy Mayor Howarth, seconded by Councilman Croft, it was moved to introduce Ordinance No. 2-2-2011, with second reading and public hearing on February 1, 2011.
Council Comments: Township Manager Czerniecki informed Council that the mobile sign would be used to inform residents of the change.

On motion by Deputy Mayor Howarth, seconded by Councilman Croft, it was moved to introduce Ordinance No. 3-2-2011, with second reading and public hearing on February 1, 2011.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
Dave Silver, 20 Heather Drive thanked the Township for a great job on leaf and snow removal. He invited Council to attend the Evesham Education Foundation’s Basketball Tournament Fundraiser. Lastly, he inquired if the Township or County offered incentives to local business to encourage recycling.
Township Manager Czerniecki suggested the Environmental Commission investigate incentives.
There being no further comments, public comment was closed.
STAFF COMMENTS
Township Manager Czerniecki commended the Public Works Department for their snow removal. He informed Council that the Recreation Department is offering adult recreation programs.
COUNCIL COMMENTS
Mayor Brown announced upcoming events, including the Relay for Life event scheduled for June 4th and June 5th, and Taste of Evesham on May 22nd. He thanked Township Manager Czerniecki and the Public Works Department for the excellent snow plowing. Mayor Brown noted an article in the Burlington County Times, stating that it applies to the entire Township and department heads as “fixers” of problems.
He inquired on the status of the baseball complex. Township Manager Czerniecki stated that a draft RFP is prepared; however, we cannot move forward until the Morrison property is closed.
On motion by Deputy Mayor Howarth, seconded by Councilman Zeuli, it was moved to adjourn the meeting.
