Regular Meeting
The Regular Meeting of the Evesham Township Council was called to order by Mayor Brown at 6:30p.m. The meeting was held in the Meeting Room of the Evesham Township Municipal Complex at 984 Tuckerton Road, Marlton, NJ 08053.

Mayor Brown announced that the meeting was being held in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act. Notice was sent to The Central Record and The Burlington County Times, posted on the Bulletin Board and sent to those who requested notification.

Proclamations
Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day – October 10, 2010
Mayor Brown read the proclamation into the record and presented it to Police Chief Mike Barth.
Ravitz Shop Rite Stores – Business of the Month
Mayor Brown read the proclamation into the record and presented it to Shawn and Steve Ravitz, representing the Ravitz Family Shop Rite, thanking them for their continued support of the community.
Leslie Drummond, representing the Yellow Ribbon Club, together with a representative of the Warriors’ Watch Riders of NJ thanked the Ravitz family for their support of the troops. The Warriors’ Watch Riders presented the Ravitz family with a certificate of excellence.
Mayor Brown stated that he had an opportunity to meet General Odierno, and tell him of the work of the Yellow Ribbon Club. The General commended the action, speaking of the importance of packages from home to the troops.
Steve and Shawn Ravitz stated they are proud to work together with the Township and local organizations and thanked the Township for its support of their store.
WORK SESSION
Energy Summit Summary
Township Manager Czerniecki summarized the Energy Summit held on September 28th with the local and regional schools, MUA, and Fire District, briefing Council on three concepts which emerged from the summit.
He explained the potential and problems of solar farms; the need to tie into a retail meter and the potential for a long term lease with a private company.
He suggested further exploring the use of biodiesel and its cost effectiveness and environmental benefits, as well as the concept of a Municipal Cooperative Pricing Council.

Worksession Continued –
Review of Drainage Improvement Projects
Township Manager Czerniecki stated that the contracts on this evening’s agenda will impact public safety by improving various road surfaces which tend to flood and become dangerous in snow and ice.
Township Engineer Staszewski reviewed each of the projects and the desire to have them completed prior to winter icing.

Ordinance No. 23-10-2010 – An Ordinance of the Township of Evesham Amending Chapter 22 of the Code of the Township of Evesham, Entitled “Personnel Policies” to Add a New Section 22-15, Entitled Employee Health Benefits
On motion by Councilwoman Hackman, seconded by Deputy Mayor Howarth, it was moved to open the public hearing on Ordinance No. 23-10-2010.

Councilman McKenna complimented this year’s Fall Festival.
Councilwoman Hackman also complimented the Fall Festival, as well as the activities of the Twinning Association.
Township Manager Czerniecki recognized Monica Vandenberg, Communications and Special Services Manager, for her contribution to those events.
Mayor Brown thanked Ms. Vandenberg and the volunteers involved.
Mayor Brown stated that NJDOT funding was restored for road projects.
